The Biggest Cycling Event Race ‘Tamil Nadu Cycle League (TCL)’ was held at the Madras International Circuit,Irungattukottai,Chennai on 28th August 2022
Chennai, August 28th2022:The Biggest Cycling Event Race ‘Tamil Nadu Cycle League (TCL)’ was held at the Madras International Circuit in the presence of Thiru Siva V.Meyyanathan (Hon’ble Minister for Environment Climate Change and Youth Welfare and Sports Development), DhaVelu B.A.LL.B (MLA, Mylapore constituency), M.Sudhakar (Founder – TCL, Anna Nagar Cycles), VeluBalasubramamiam (Founder – Maiyam55), KartikKonchada (Sr. General Manager – Distribution Operations; Reliance Brands Ltd) Mr.MaheshAnand (President, Nippon Paint India Decorative Division) and Mr.Mark Titus (AVP Marketing, Nippon Paint India Decorative Division) on Sunday 28th August 2022.
Cyclists from all over Tamil Nadu participated for the race and battle it out for honours in this championship.Tamil Nadu Cycling League is a Cycling event organised by Anna Nagar Cycles and Maiyam55 to bring out the hidden champions in cyclists. A total of 80 cyclists were shortlistedfrom a pool of 150 and each franchise comprise of eight cyclists and two reserves.
Speaking at the race day M.Sudhakar(Founder – TCL, Anna Nagar Cycles) said “A total of eight teams across Tamil Nadu have taken part for this criterium race. The core objective of the league is to provide a platform and opportunity for cyclists to take part in the Indian Cycling League. Tamil Nadu Cycle League will be held annually, and the best athletes will be selected to compete in international competitions and the Olympics.”
The crit race consisted of 10 laps and 8 teams on a closed circuit, each lap was ~3.7kms. Team RancycersRanipet Vellore (Total Round 1 Points – 41 Points)emerged victorious completing the TCL Team Crit race winning theRound 1 of the Tamil Nadu Cycle League 2022 followed by Team Madras Pro Racers (Total Round 1 Points – 40 Points) as runners-up and Team KovaiPedalz(Total Round 1 Points – 34 Points) for the 3rd Place.
Participation certificate was given to all the cyclists taking part in the event. Round 2 of the Tamil Nadu Cycle league will be held this year at Madras International Circuit.
