The focus of this association was not just entertainment but it had a Motto – the motto of SERVICE THROUGH FELLOWSHIP. It combines social responsibility along with entertainment. This concept lead to the formation of RYA MADRAS METRO TRUST in the year 1993 and subsequently its Project – CHENNAI FOOD BANK which started working with a vision of a “ Hunger Free World “.

RYA METRO is an association of 250 Rajasthani Individuals started in the year 1988 . The focus of this association was not just entertainment but it had a Motto – the motto of SERVICE THROUGH FELLOWSHIP. It combines social responsibility along with entertainment. This concept lead to the formation of RYA MADRAS METRO TRUST in the year 1993 and subsequently its Project – CHENNAI FOOD BANK which started working with a vision of a “ Hunger Free World “.

Chennai Food Bank provides food grains and pulses enough for one meal a day to all the inmates of it Beneficiary Institutes which includes Orphanages, Old Age Homes , Homes for Mentally Challenged and Differently Abled and Animal Welfare Homes, in and around Chennai feeding more than 15000 inmates and 1000 animals every month . The food grains distributed in the last 30 years has covered more than 4 Crore meals till date.

Chennai Food Bank is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization with extremely transparent systems. The collection of food grains is done through our network of like minded and generous individual donors and corporates, which in turn is distributed to the needy. Chennai Food Bank has also been in the forefront in providing food grains during natural calamities in various parts of the country.

Apart from providing food grains Chennai Food Bank has also conducted Annual Mega Events for the entertainment of the inmates of its Beneficiary Institution and Members of RYA metro (Metronians) and their families are ever ready to participate in all ‘Apna Bana Lo’ Events , the popular tag line for the events of Chennai Food Bank. To commemorate 30 years of service, they have planned a trip to Tirupathi for Lord Balaji’s Darshan for 1008 special & underprivileged children on April 25th, Tuesday. This event is being organized in association with Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Local Advisory Board, Chennai.
These children taken on this trip are from various orphanages, destitute homes, etc including physically challenged & visually impaired children. A special Charted train has been organised to cater to and fro trip for the children, numerous volunteers, health care team and safety preparedness is at its peak. The children will be served special meals including breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinner and also energy drinks to keep them hydrated.
There are several entertainment programmes planned during the train journey like face painting, magic show, mimicry artists and dance etc.
The children will also be provided with goodie bag containing almost 25 gifts including steel Tiffen boxes, utility items, juices, chocolates, snacks, stationary items, etc.
They have tied up with MGM Hospitals as their Medical Partner, whose medical team is will accompany them for the entire trip to attend to any medical emergencies.
The train will be flagged off at 7am from Chennai central railway station by the below dignitaries.
