Rotary Club of Madras and Greater Chennai Corporation launches RMC’s Mobile Health Clinic, at the Ripon Building, Chennai
~ RMC’s Mobile Health Clinic will visit 281 schools spread across the city and cater to approximately 99000 school children ~
Chennai, 23rd December 2022 : The Rotary Club of Madras and Greater Chennai Corporation were proud to launch RMC’s Mobile Health Clinic on the 23rd of December, 2022 at the Ripon Building, Chennai. The clinic was inaugurated in the presence of Shri Shankar Lal Kumawat I.A.S, Joint Commissioner (Health), Shri Gagandeep Singh Bedi (I.A.S. Principal Secretary/Commissioner), Ms. R. Priya (Honourable Mayor) and Rtn. Jayshree Sridhar (President of the Rotary Club of Madras)
The bus is fitted with the latest Dental chair and X-RAY also all other requisite equipment to treat school children. The van will go to all the Corporation schools in Chennai City and children will be given Dental Screening and treatment. It will go to 281 schools spread across the city and cater to approximately 99000 school children.
About Rotary Club of Madras:
Our Club is the Third oldest club in the country. We were Chartered on 19th July 1929. As we enter our 94th year we are proud to state that our club has been continuously engaged in Community Service projects with a view to work among marginalized sections and bring about a betterment in the lives of the people.
Over the years we have many such outreach programs to our credit. Rotary Club of Madras pioneered the Red Measles Eradication Program in 1979. We also pioneered the Polio Eradication program in the whole of India in 1985.
Other than our Ongoing projects Rotary Club of Madras has always been at the Forefront of Relief and Rehabilitation efforts during natural disasters like the Tsunami, the Chennai Floods and more recently during the Covid outbreak.
