Legal education regulator, Bar Council of India has approved the RV University’s School of Law and its 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. programmes. The School of Law (SoL) degree programmes will commence from August 2023 and it will become the sixth school under RVU.
RVU’s School of Law will offer a range of programmes designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical values necessary to excel in the legal field. Students can enroll for five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) or B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.),LL.M and Ph.D.. The admissions for undergraduate, postgraduate and full-time/ part-time Ph.D. programmes are already underway. Candidates can apply through the online application available on the University’s website – https://admissions.rvu.edu.in/. The admission to the UG programme is based on RVSAT entrance exam /valid CLAT/LSAT/CUET scores. RVU School of Law has instituted 75 merit scholarships ranging from 25% to 100% to deserving candidates in the first year itself.
In his reaction, Prof. Y.S.R. Murthy, Dean, School of Law, and Vice Chancellor, RVU said, “We are excited to launch the School of Law at RVU which will join the existing five schools to deepen our commitment to interdisciplinarity. Through the School of Law, we aim to nurture future lawyers who will uphold the principles of justice, integrity, and social responsibility. Our students will have the unique opportunity to learn the intersection of law with business, economics, technology and public policy.”

RV University has opened admissions for the year 2023-24. The University is accepting applications for admission for all its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across its six schools – School of Business, School of Economics, School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Design and Innovation, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and its newly launched School of Law.

Candidates can apply through the online application available on the University’s website https://admissions.rvu.edu.in/. The eligibility criteria for the undergraduate programme is a 10+2 or equivalent completion certificate from CBSE, ISC, IB, Cambridge, State Boards and other Govt. recognized boards. The selection criteria will be based on applicant’s performance in RV Scholastic Admission Test (RVSAT) and RV University’s selection process. RVSAT is the national-level entrance exam for all UG and PG programmes of RV University. The university is offering merit scholarships for deserving students.
RV University earmarks Rs 10 crore for Merit Scholarships in 2023-24
Over 500 UG and PG students to benefit
RV University (RVU) has allocated Rs. 10 crores for merit scholarships for the ensuing academic year starting in August 2023. It will benefit 500 students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.
Nearly 200 B.Tech. students and 50 B.Sc. students in the School of Computer Science Engineering will benefit from these scholarships, besides 75 students pursuing five-year integrated B.A.LL.B. and B.B.A.LL.B. as well as LL.M. programmes in the School of Law. These scholarships will cover nearly 40 students each from the School of Liberal Arts and Science and School of Design and Innovation. 80 merit scholarships have been proposed for students pursuing B.B.A, B.Com. and B.A. (Economics) programmes in the School of Business and School of Economics.
RVU is awarding these scholarships to enable meritorious students to pursue their academic aspirations and create a talent-pool of future leaders. These include 100%, 50% and 25% scholarships for study in the first year. Renewal of scholarships is based on maintaining merit. As the admissions for the academic year 2023-2024 are open, students can apply for the scholarships for this year.
RV University School of Law signs MoU with Seattle University School of Law
50% Tuition Scholarships for 5 RVU students announced
RV University (RVU) signed a landmark agreement of collaboration with Seattle University (SU) in U.S.A. The agreement enables law students from RVU to pursue higher legal studies at the Seattle university School of Law and aspire to become a part of a global work force.
One MoU provides for partnership in LL.M. programme while the other agreement provides for accelerated LL.M. Both MoUs seek to facilitate student exchange, faculty exchange, joint research, opportunities to attend conferences, lectures, and seminars, joint publishing projects and library exchanges.
Under the MoU, two joint programmes will be offered to the students of RVU. One is the LL.M. pathway programme, which is a dual degree programme. Students enrolled in the five-year integrated law programme at RVU will be able to obtain an undergraduate degree in law from RVU and an LL.M. degree from Seattle School of Law in their chosen area of specialization within a span of 5 years. In addition, five students from RV University will be awarded a 50% scholarship to pursue these joint programmes.
The second agreement is for a student enrolled in the LL.M. programme at RVU. The student will have the opportunity to pursue a second LL.M. degree from Seattle University. At the end of two years, the student can get two LL.M. degrees, one from RV University and another one from Seattle University.
As recognition of special partnership with RVU, Seattle University has offered a 50% tuition scholarship for five students. The total tuition is approximately $44,000 at Seattle University for 24 credits. With the scholarship, tuition would be only around $22,000.
